AN ACCOMPLISHMENT

I have always been intrigued with tiny crafters.  Not rafters who are tiny - the ones who make things in unbelievably small scale.  I remember watching some of the "bonus features" for the movie "Coraline" and they interviewed the woman who knit all the clothes for the little characters - she knit them with TOOTHPICKS!!  How crazy is that?  Even with regular sized needles my hands get cramped and angry - it simply boggles my mind.
Or what about the people who make teensy little polymer clay food that looks more delicious than anything I could possibly ever cook!  How is that even possible??  I'm convinced that these people must have elfin - like hands that are much more dexterous than my probably larger than average size hands.  As soon as I try anything in miniature, the bits seem to just disappear between my fingers.
his totally doesn't explain why I was prompted to enter an altered match box swap over at Craftster. I even declined when it was first mentioned to me, but, once again, I was so enchanted by the tiny boxes that others had made that I closed my eyes tight and jumped in.
There were definitely some struggles along the way - especially with the inside, but in the end I was pretty pleased with the whole thing. It is all polymer clay covering the box and some moss and acrylic paint to finish it off.  My partner hasn't received yet, so, let's wait to see what she thinks.  ;)

One of her "themes" was "Pissed off wood nymphs" - so here ya go...
This is the whole deal right here - the roots are just a stand that the box is attached to.
And of course, what would a pissed off wood nymph be without a little fungus?
                                                                        Close up!
And here is the inside, some twigs and moss with the spirit of the tree slumbering inside...
